Sonya Brown

Sonya Brown is a General Partner at Norwest and Co-head of the firm's Growth Equity team. Her official Norwest profile says she joined the firm in 2011, brings more than 20 years of investment experience, and is based in Norwest's Menlo Park office. She focuses on growth equity and buyouts investing across sectors, with particular interest in consumer products and services, internet/e-commerce, retail and business services. Previously, she worked for almost a decade at Summit Partners in Boston, where she led the Consumer and Internet Industry Group in North America. Earlier, she was a founder and General Partner of iXL Ventures and Vice President of Corporate Development at iXL Enterprises. She began her career in investment banking at Bear Stearns. Her education includes a BS from Northwestern University and an MBA from Harvard Business School; she is also a CFA charterholder.
